None of the Hits, All the Time: the 2011 CITR Fundrive

Sorry for the late notice, but I was just reminded that my favourite radio station, CITR, is having its annual fundrive.  As usual, I’ve made a donation, and encourage you to do the same.  I say late notice because the fundrive ends tomorrow, November 25 — but I imagine you can make a donation at any time.  Whether or not you donate, I highly recommend autotuning to 101.9 FM.

I credit CITR with pointing me to perhaps half of what’s in my music collection.  The station’s unofficial motto is “none of the hits, all the time”, and its music programming is eclectic, to say the least — ranging from from hip-hop to dream pop, hardcore to avant garde noise, and all things in between.

CITR also has excellent news programming.  Dead air is filled with the BBC, there are Democracy Now! reports, and excellent locally-produced news/talk shows like News 101, Radio Freethinker, and End of the World News provide thoughtful and entertaining content.  This morning, for example, I tuned in to hear this extremely interesting RT interview, with former Alaska Senator Mike Gravel, being streamed on air:

Thanks, CITR!
